What you'll do at work

You don't have to work in a clinical job to help the NHS save lives. Healthcare organisations across the North West recruit apprentices annually on to the Skills Development Network's (SDN) Foundation Accounting Apprenticeship - a 24-month, Level 3 Assistant Accountant Apprenticeship.

Apprentices are employed on a full time, fixed-term contract attending day release training studying industry recognised AAT qualifications. The role may either be within one or may rotate through various functions of the Finance Department such as Management Accounting, Income & Costing, Accounts Payable/Receivable, Financial Services, Financial Accounting and Cashiers.

Training

Apprenticeships include time away from working for specialist training. You’ll study to gain professional knowledge and skills.

What you'll learn

After this apprenticeship

As this is a fixed-term apprenticeship it does not include a guaranteed permanent post with an NHS organisation; however, whilst on programme, you’ll gain valuable experience and a recognised qualification that opens doors to a wide range of NHS careers. You’ll also have access to support and guidance to help you apply for permanent roles both during and after your apprenticeship.

On completion successful candidates could have the opportunity to continue to higher level apprenticeships studying the AAT Professional Diploma in Accounting (Level 4) and ultimately undertaking a professional accounting qualification.
