About this role

Autism Support Assistant - Full Time

Location: Tameside
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm
Pay Rate: £105 per day
Contract: Long-term, ongoing (starting April 2026)

We are currently seeking a compassionate and dedicated Autism Support Assistant to join a specialist unit within a mainstream primary school in the Tameside area.

This is a highly rewarding opportunity to support pupils with autism and additional learning needs, helping them to access the curriculum, build confidence, and achieve their full potential within a nurturing and inclusive environment. You will be supported by a collaborative and experienced team of education professionals.

Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEN, including autism, ADHD, and communication needs

Assist with classroom activities, tailored learning, and targeted interventions

We are looking for an individual who:

Has experience supporting children with special educational needs, ideally autism

Is proactive and committed to supporting pupils' development

Holds an Enhanced DBS check (or is willing to obtain one)

A Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant or relevant SEN qualification is desirable, but not essential.
