About this role

Start your career in surface engineering with SPL as an Electroplating Technician Apprentice. In this role, you will learn how to carry out chemical surface treatments to enhance and protect components in line with customer specifications and industry standards, particularly within a precision engineering and aerospace environment.

You’ll gain hands-on experience preparing components through jigging and wiring, operating treatment processes, and maintaining solutions and equipment to ensure consistent, high-quality finishes. You will also learn how to carry out in-process inspections, review technical documentation, and accurately record data to ensure full traceability and compliance.

Working as part of an experienced team, you’ll play a key role in ensuring components meet strict quality standards while following health, safety, and environmental procedures. This apprenticeship is ideal for someone who enjoys practical work, has a keen eye for detail, and is looking to build a long-term career in a specialised area of manufacturing.
