Start your career with Balfour Beatty on the Net Zero Teesside (NZT) project, a major initiative leading the way in low-carbon energy and carbon capture. As a Construction Materials Technician Apprentice, you will play an important role in ensuring construction materials meet strict quality and safety standards on a high-profile infrastructure project.
You’ll gain hands-on experience testing materials such as concrete, aggregates, cement, grout, and admixtures, while learning how to analyse results and support improvements in performance. You will also be involved in trialling new materials and helping introduce modern technologies and processes to enhance testing methods and efficiency.
Working as part of a skilled team, you’ll develop an understanding of industry testing techniques, including non-destructive testing (NDT), and learn how laboratories maintain UKAS accreditation to BS EN ISO 17025 standards. This apprenticeship is ideal for someone with an interest in construction, science, or engineering, offering the opportunity to build valuable technical skills and a long-term career in materials testing and infrastructure.
