Summary

The Digital Engineering Apprenticeship includes a Level 3 qualification in Construction and the Built Environment and a qualification leading towards Incorporated Engineer status. What you'll do at work

Actively participate in the company mentorship program, as a mentee  Working towards Level 3 Digital Engineering Technician Receive on the job learning for the following whilst assisting the design team with project deliverables Learning the fundamentals of mechanical, electrical & plumbing systems Software (Revit, AutoCAD, Navisworks, BIM360/Autodesk Construction Cloud) Navigate the project browser, ribbon, and settings (Revit)  Knowledge of view templates, systems, filters and worksets (Revit)  Basic family creation (Revit)  Ability to read and understand engineering mark-up drawings Document control / Information management  Drawing layout and presentation skills Understanding of architectural and structural drawings Able to complete detailed checks of own work prior to returning finished product to Designer  Model coordination  Actively participate in the company mentorship program, as a mentee  Work towards professional registration : Become an Affiliate Member of CIBSE & Progress to LCIBSE (Licenciate member) and above   Become a member of the Society of Digital Engineers   Obtain a CSCS Card  Attend Site visits at least once per quarter

What you'll learn

Course contents Able to identify risk activities and encourage all employees to demonstrate safety-conscious behaviours. Able to extract reports and images for tool-box talks and site- inductions using models and simulationsAssess, identify and record the environmental impact of project. Using models to demonstrate the reduction of waste to stakeholdersAssist in applying engineering principles by using established and emerging engineering technologiesPrepare simple commercial schedules and reports demonstrating digital workflowsPrepare initial design briefs, recommendations, programmes and detailed designs via a digital workflow considering design risks and responsibilitiesAssist in the implementation of innovation, contributing to case studies that demonstrate value. Good general IT skills and their applicationCreate simple construction simulations and logistic planning using a digital workflowAssess and report on quality standards of the projects via the digital environmentTo identify where the current role ties in to the construction industry. Articulating the respective position in the construction sector and highlighting how it integrates with other sectors / disciplinesSupport the development of stakeholder engagement and carry out a stakeholder presentation, demonstrating the appropriate presentation skillsDemonstrate the ability to move information from project delivery into commissioning and operation through involvement in the handover of digital assets
