About this role

Our client, a prominent educational institution in Croydon, is seeking a skilled and dedicated Full-time SEN Teaching Assistant to join their Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) team. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual who is passionate about supporting children with special educational needs and fostering their growth and development.

As a Full-time SEN Teaching Assistant, you will be responsible for providing exceptional support and care to our EYFS students, ensuring they receive the individualised attention and resources they require to thrive. Your role will involve collaborating closely with the class teacher, therapists, and other members of the multidisciplinary team to develop and implement tailored learning strategies that cater to the unique needs of each child.

Your duties will include, but are not limited to:
- Assisting the class teacher in planning and delivering engaging, inclusive, and age-appropriate lessons that address the specific learning needs of children with special educational requirements.
- Providing one-to-one or small group support to students, focusing on areas such as communication, social skills, sensory integration, and self-care.
- Implementing behaviour management strategies to create a positive and nurturing learning environment.
- Monitoring and documenting the progress of students, providing regular feedback to the class teacher and other professionals involved in the child's education.
- Participating in professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge in supporting children with special educational needs.
- Maintaining a safe, clean, and organised learning space that promotes the well-being and engagement of the children.
- Fostering positive relationships with parents/carers and actively involving them in their child's educational journey.

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess a range of skills and qualifications. We are looking for candidates who have:
- A relevant qualification in education, child development, or a related field, such as a Level 3 Diploma in Childcare and Education or equivalent.
- Extensive experience working with children, particularly those with special educational needs, in an EYFS or primary school setting.
- A deep understanding of child development, learning theories, and the strategies and resources required to support children with diverse needs.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and collaborate effectively with teachers, parents/carers, and other professionals.
- Strong organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritise effectively.
- A calm, patient, and empathetic approach when working with children, and a genuine passion for their well-being and progress.
- A commitment to continuous professional development and a willingness to participate in training opportunities.

In return, our client is offering a competitive salary of £95 - £110 per day, depending on your qualifications and experience. This is a full-time position, and you will be working within the EYFS setting in Croydon, providing an enriching and supportive environment for our students.

If you are an enthusiastic and dedicated individual who is eager to make a difference in the lives of children with special educational needs, we encourage you to apply for this exciting opportunity. Please submit your CV and a cover letter outlining your relevant experience and suitability for the role.

We look forward to hearing from you and welcoming you to our team.
