Level 3 Early Years Practitioner / Nursery Practitioner

Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Level 3 Early Years Practitioner / Nursery Practitioner to join our team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to provide high-quality care and education for children aged 0–5 years in a safe, stimulating, and inclusive environment. Responsibilities

Childcare & Development
  • Plan and deliver engaging activities aligned with the EYFS framework.
  • Support children’s learning and development across all areas.
  • Observe, assess, and document children’s progress.
  • Promote positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing.
  • Ensure each child’s individual needs are met.
Safeguarding & Welfare
  • Adhere to safeguarding policies and procedures at all times.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and secure environment.
  • Promptly report any concerns regarding child welfare.
  • Administer first aid when required (if trained).
Partnership with Parents & Carers
  • Build strong, trusting relationships with parents and carers.
  • Provide regular feedback on children’s development and progress.
  • Support the settling-in process for new children.
Teamwork
  • Collaborate with colleagues to maintain high standards of care and education.
  • Participate in staff meetings and training sessions.
  • Support students or apprentices as needed.
Operational Duties
  • Assist with daily routines, including meals, toileting, and sleep.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation.
  • Follow nursery policies and procedures.
  • Contribute to the planning and evaluation of activities.

Qualifications

Essential
  • Full and relevant Level 3 Early Years qualification.
  • Knowledge of the EYFS framework.
  • Experience working with children aged 0–5 years.
  • Understanding of safeguarding and child protection.
Desirable
  • Paediatric First Aid qualification.
  • Experience working in a nursery or early years setting.
  • Knowledge of SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities).

Day-to-Day

As a Level 3 Early Years Practitioner, your day will involve:

  • Creating and delivering fun, educational activities tailored to children’s developmental needs.
  • Observing and recording children’s progress to ensure they are thriving.
  • Supporting children during meal times, toileting, and rest periods.
  • Engaging with parents and carers to provide updates on their child’s development.
  • Collaborating with your team to maintain a positive and nurturing environment.
