Able to demonstrate literacy, numeracy and communication skills in English to carry out the duties of the role (known as functional skills), or GCSE or equivalent experience
Bedside Emergency Assessment Course for HCA's (BEACH) or willingness to undertake

Level 2 or 3 Health Care qualification/apprenticeship, or completion of Band 3 Excellence in Care Competencies for existing Band 2 substantive MSW
Experience
Essential:
Experience of working in Acute Hospital setting or care background, in a Band 2 MSW role or equivalent
Experience of delivering personal care to patients
Experience of using computers or willing to undertake training in local computer systems
Desirable:
Experience of taking clinical observations
Skills
Essential:
Evidence of using one's own initiative
Awareness of risks, identifying them and alerting appropriate personnel
Knowledge of basic IT systems or willing to undertake training
Knowledge of care and related procedures and relevant legislation

Awareness of changing agenda within NHS

Previous experience of complex health needs
