Education and Qaulifications

Essential:

• NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in a healthcare setting/willingness to complete training.
• Good General education Including Maths and English GCSE or equivalent
• Completed the National Care Certificate or willing to complete training

Knowledge

Essential:

• Ability to cope with stressful/sensitive situations
• Awareness and understanding of the importance of confidentiality
• Knowledge of infection control and safeguarding processes

Skills and Abilities

Essential:

• Friendly and caring nature, Flexible and eager to learn new skills
• Communication skills
• Basic computer literacy
• Motivated to provide quality service to Maternity Patients and families
• Ability to cope in a busy working environment under pressure

Desirable:

• Venepuncture
• Neonatal observation trained

Work related Circumstances

Essential:

• Occupational health clearance, Moving and handling with patients and equipment
• DBS- extended
• Good team player with professional outlook and positive attitude
